Our Early Learner Program is specifically designed to give young learners, ages 3-6, a jump start in acquiring meaningful communication and critical skills that provide a foundation for lifelong learning. The program's approach is rooted in Applied ‘Verbal’ Behavior Analysis, which focuses intensely on teaching functional language across environments and works directly with the child's motivation. Natural environment strategies, including Pivotal Response Training, are also important components to the program. Primary areas of concentration include teaching initiation/functional communication, joint attention and engagement, imitation and co-regulation, reciprocity and social language, imaginative and productive play, as well as fluent discrimination of both visual and auditory stimuli. The goal of the program is to prepare our early learners for lifelong learning; in essence, for our students to learn how to learn.
The Intensive Early Learner Program provides 15 hours of direct intervention per week. Families may choose between a morning or afternoon session, Monday through Friday 8:45-11:45 or 12:30-3:30. Both sessions currently run with ratios of 1:1 and 3:2. (9 students to 7 adults in all). Parents register their child for each quarterly session individually, and continue as long as they wish through the kindergarten year.
2011-2012 Schedule:
Fall Session 2011: Sept 7 through Dec 19 (closed 11/21-11/25)

Spring Session 2012: Apr 3 through June 26 (closed 5/25, 5/28)
Parent Conferences 6/27 and 6/28
Summer Session 2012: July 9 through Aug 23
One-three typically developing peers are included throughout the week for peer modeling and socialization and are not included in the above stated ratio.
Tuition: Please inquire about our 2012 rates. Our tuition is comparative to, and often cheaper than, the cost of a home-based ABA/VB program with the same level of intensity. Within traditional home programs, the child is taught by hired tutors of varying levels of qualifications who are trained and periodically supervised by a behavior analyst. Our program is unique and a great value because it is taught or directly supervised by masters level board certified behavior analysts. Our team of professionals are highly qualified with extensive training and experience in the field of autism. We make the process easy by providing your child with a high quality individualized program, parent coaching, and teaching materials, all included in your tuition. An increasing number of insurance carriers provide partial to majority reimbursement for ABA services (now including Intel employees!) See our link under resources for accessing ABA reimbursement from your insurance carrier.
